Ballarat Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation Inc (BWRAC) was founded by volunteer wildlife rescuers and carers and veterinary professionals. Our mission is to rehabilitate wildlife that has experienced injury or trauma and advocates to influence and protect Australia’s wildlife habitat biodiversity. We do this by providing specialised care, lobbying for policy and industry reform, undertaking research and educating the public.
We are a not for profit, charitable organisation that is run solely by volunteers. Membership fees and all donations go towards the care and rehabilitation of wildlife, advocacy campaigns, administrative costs and the production of educational resources.
We need our members to be active in the care and support of wildlife, and not just members who pay a yearly fee. There are numerous ways to engage and get involved with BWRAC.
