Koala Bridget
Koala Bridget - our second research participant
Koala Bridget took a misadventure into the streets of Brown Hill. A member of the public raised the alarm and Jen Greenhalgh was able to rescue Bridget and take her to Eastwood Vets for a checkup. After a short time in care at Shanhaven Shelter, she was able to be released back to the Creswick State Forrest.
While Bridget wore a radio transponder which allowed her to be tracked for a defined period of time post release. Unfortunately Bridget's tracking collar came off after only a short time of her release.
We are doing our best in this quest to save our future generations of our iconic Koala and that does not happen without a team from advocacy to care and release, it’s all essential!
BWRAC provided seed funding to Federation University through a Ministerial grant executed by Andy Meddick, AJP and supported by the Victorian Government through the Wildlife Protection and Support Package 2022-23, administered by DEECA.
